The Mojos !
* Our motto is Fit ! Fast ! Fun !
* We are a West End Toronto team. We are looking for individuals who are committed to personal fitness, sportsmanship, and a desire to improve personally and as a team.
* As a member of The Alliance Dragonboat Club (ADBC), the Mojos offer paddlers a potential opportunity to paddle on both an ADBC team at the national and world championship level or to strictly paddle in local regattas on the Mojos.
* Practice's are at the Toronto Sailing and Canoe Club. Practices are twice per week and 90 minutes long and may include group dry land training (running, circuit training), and video taping. Coaching is performed both on the dragonboat and coach boat.
* The Toronto Sailing and Canoe Club location offers changing rooms docks, showers, and a lakeside clubhouse. This central location is ideally located next to the Marliyn Bell Park Dragonboat course.
* We video tape practices regularly and videos are made available online for review by both the paddler and coach.
* In 2010 the Mojos will be welcoming Lance Stewert as our new coach. Lance is a long time paddler for the Canadian Senior Dragonboat Club. He has participated in many World Dragonboat Championships (most recently Prague) and World Club Crew Championships (most recently Penang). Lance brings with him a decade of lessons learned by some of the best paddling coaches in the world including Mac Hickox, Jim Farintosh and Doug Jones.
* The Mojos enjoy getting together after practice and races for a quick beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and dockside BBQ or enjoying a quick meal at the TSCC restaurant and bar. It is a fun way to get to know each other better and to unwind after a demanding practice.
